Apparitions darting from woods cause accidents

The woods near the Pike Creek is haunted. When people are driving through the wood, they will hear screams and see ghostly apparitions run in front of their car. There have been many accidents on the road. The area is also apparently where someone abandoned a baby, and the sound of crying is still heard.

Harry Houdini's final performance was here; something remained

An old venue that was witness to Harry Houdini's final performance has phantom figures appearing from a sealed basement, ethereal screaming and applause from a closed mezzanine, and obvious but unexplained sounds from an adjoining pool hall.

Presidential mourning and antics

Employees and guests have experienced some strange occurrences at The Renaissance Mayflower Hotel which appear to be linked to the inauguration of President Calvin Coolidge. Coolidge did not attend his own inaugural ball in 1925 because he was mourning the death of his 16-year-old son.
