Mary hangs around

A young woman named Mary hung herself on the 3rd floor of this building. Mary was depressed because her boyfriend left her for another woman. She is still haunting the pub today. Her ghostly apparition has been seen wearing a pretty lace dress.

Once important fort, now haunted.

Fort Frederick is part of American history from the colonial time to the present. The fort was one of the largest built by English colonists in North America. The fort's exterior is was 355 feet from bastion point to bastion point. It had strong stone walls that were 18 feet high. Fort Frederick was built to protect the white frontier families during the French and Indian Wars of 1754 - 1763.

Layers Hill is an area where a lot of lawyers build fine homes in Elkridge. "The Lawn" is a large, two-story house that was built in 1830 by Judge George Dobbin. In 1951 another family purchased the home and soon learned that they were not the only ones living in the home.
