Hilltop House Hotel

The Historic Hilltop House Hotel in Harpers Ferry includes some unusual guests

Built in 1888 by African American proprietor Thomas S. Lovett, the hotel, built on a hilltop provides a splendid view of Harpers Ferry, WV and the Potomac river. The hotel, which still hosts guests even today has a long history including some tragedy events. Employees and guest alike have experienced the paranormal within the confines of this aging hotel. UPDATE: The Hilltop House Hotel will be closing in February 2008 for substantial renovations at the direction of the hotel's new owners. Currently the hotel is scheduled to re-open sometime in 2010.
