The mansion was built in 1862 for the Welsh Family. In 1896 Dr. Geroge H. Riggs purchased the mansion and opened a Sanitarium for the mental ill. The Sanitarium was opened for forty three years. Patients came from every state to get treatment at this hospital. The Sanitarium treated over 1,000 patients over the years. The mansion was purchased by Guy Gabriel, and he turned the beautiful mansion into a first class restaurant. Guy found that he was not alone in this beautiful mansion. The mansion came with many ghosts.

The house was built between 1755 and 1760. The home belonged to George Mason who was born in 1725 and is known as a generally important person who influenced the development of our government.
