Piney Bottom is the location for numerous sightings of a headless man dressed in black walking the area. One account happened many years ago. At the first creek crossing there used to be a thing that jumped on the back of horses as people rode through. It would ride with the unlucky traveler until the horse reached the other creek crossing. It would then jump off the horse.

The caretaker and his horses

The Belair Stables was home to many of the greatest thoroughbred horses in history, including Selima, Gallant Fox, Omaha, and Nashua. Its buildings were constructed in the early twentieth century and were made to complement the 18th century Belair Mansion, located nearby.

An odd accident involving a girl who was putting up disco ball in the auditorium: Somehow its suspending wire wrapped around her neck and she choked to death after falling from the ladder.
