Woodstock was once an academic and theological training school. It was a small college named after the nearby town of Woodstock, Maryland, located just outside Baltimore. Many generations of Jesuits were educated there in preparation for the priesthood. Woodstock was used for over one hundred years: The school started in 1869, and it closed in 1974.
